A123 is a battery manufacturer with manufacturing locations in Livonia and Romulus, MI. Additional facilities include Assembly facilities in Westborough, MA. and corporate headquarters in Waltham, MA. Conti designed and implemented all facilities data network from MDF to IDF to CAT6 drop at each facility. Conti was the only contractor that was used exclusively at all facilities throughout the U.S.

One of the challenges with the data infrastructure installation was the "Clean Room" environment. Once these rooms are cleaned, sealed, and certified "clean", no contaminates can be introduced into the room nor can any construction type work go on such as hole coring, drilling, or cabling from outside in. Conti designed a Consolidation Point system along with the Panduit Fiber Runner system that allows them to add cables in the Clean Room any time a data drop is needed.
